STATE.DPT is a self-founded and grassroots cultural enrichment and research agency headquartered in the Netherlands. The cultural ethos aims to push the boundaries of collective responsibility and community engagement within arts, culture, and society. Since 2020, STATE.DPT has been a platform for diverse cultural experiences, successfully hosting numerous exhibitions, panel talks, concerts, and music programs.
The initiative functions under three key principles:
NEW CONDITIONS REQUIRE NEW APPROACHES
ESCAPISM IS A PRIVILEGE
THERE IS NO SOCIAL, WITHOUT SOCIAL DUTY
SONAR.PROPAGANDA
Sonar propaganda is a digital archiving project by STATE.DPT that explores global culture through frequency, unearthing hidden currents and forgotten imprints through research-based documentation. Sonic artefacts of interest are unveiled and archived with the hopes of garnering a vast database by and for communities.
LOVE THY ENEMY
The inaugural couture collection by STATE.DPT is a sharp reckoning with the Neo-European zeitgeist. The collection exhumes long-buried grievances of self-perceived civilizational misalignment, examining the crossroads where the chief architects of modern conflict now stand. Indecisive between the embrace of globalisation and a long-held history of empirical dominance, open arms may still squeeze you to death.
Blood-soaked alliances, divisive politics, and a new-age militantism grip the continent like a fever. Yet, those who call it home span much further and wider than the century we left behind. What happens when the home you escaped to begins fostering the rhetoric of the home you left behind? Who will fight these wars? For whom will these wars be fought?
LOVE THY ENEMY is a letter of resignation. A punitive discharge from an industrial complex that emboldens the few at the expense of the many. It is a textile-based proclamation that simply says, I am too big for your wars.
